8 1 but Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.
2 At dawn he appeared again in the temple courts, where all the people gathered around him, and he sat down to teach them. 3 The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group 4 and said to Jesus, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. 5 In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?” 6 They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him.But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. 7 When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” 8 Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground.
9 At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. 10 Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?”
11 “No one, sir,” she said.
“Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.”
Forgiven
Isn't it funny how it is so easy to find fault and hang ups in others than it is to see ones own mistakes and failures? It is kind of like when people try to tell you about your kids, marriage, or finances and you turn around see they kids out of control, or don't even have kids, can't stand their spouse, and full of debt, don't know how to manage their own finances. You want to ask, how are you gonna fix me, put me on blast and you on the same road I'm on, or worse.
This is what the pharisees did. They rallied around a woman caught up in the act of adultery( voluntary sexual intercourse between a married
person and someone other than his or her lawful spouse.)
She did not need to be committing adultery, but the pharisees just took it to far and was trying to stone her to death. Now that is crazy! Galatians 6:1- 3 says,1Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted. 2Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. 3If anyone thinks they are something when they are not, they deceive themselves.
You see the proper response to her situation was not to stone her, but to have pity on her and compassion for her soul. If they would have stoned her in her sin. She would not have had a chance for repentance. Christ came to set the captive free. God did not send Jesus into the world to condemn the world but that through him we might all be saved.
The pharisees intentions was not to help her. Their intentions were to condemn, humiliate, intimidate, embarrass and shame her. Jesus knew the intention of their heart and did not go for it.
He was like. "Hold up, Hold UP! You gonna stone her to death... OK! first tell me if you have any sins that we need to know about, since we're handling sin right now. And then we can go to the law and see if you need to be stoned about something you did(in my own words).
They were not having that, and each one of them tip toed away... tooo Funny!!!! The craziest part about it is the older pharisees were the first ones that left... Ha Ha, so I bet they could think of a lot more stuff they did and wisdom kicked in, and they got to steppin!
(side Note- Where was the man the woman got caught in adultery with? Why wasn't he gonna be stoned too?Hmmmm...I'm Just saying, that ain't right!
Yes, all have sinned and fallen short of His Glory, but we don't have to stay bound in sin. Just like those ol' pharisees, the devil tries to put thoughts in our mind to condemn us. He tries to remind us of our past mistakes, and our present ones as we are trying to desperately get closer to God or even when we have fallen away from God. He doesn't want us to get close to God. He will try to get us to disqualify ourselves from where God is calling us to, with shame, regret, bitterness, unforgiving, depression, self hate, doubt.
He does this because he lost his position while being unwilling to bow down and worship God. He knows what he did. He knows his shame. He knows all his short comings. And he wants us to remember ours so we will believe that we can't be forgiven. He wants us to not give our life to God whispering lies like, you can't be redeemed, you can't live that kind of life style! You are unforgivable, unlovable and unchangeable. The addiction is too strong. I've been this way my whole life. I'm okay! And it is all lies!
He wants you to believe salvation is not for you because of where you are and all you have done. That is a LIE... and a trick from the enemy because of his lack of power, salvation and position in God. He is condemned to hell and he wants you to join him.
YOU are forgiven....If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness(1 John 1:9).
Jesus now stands in the Gap for you. You are incapable of living a perfect sinless life. I don't care how hard we try we all are gonna mess up. It is impossible to live life with out making a mistake. That is why we need Jesus.
His Holy Spirit convicts us of the sin in our lives. Only through Jesus and because of Jesus can we make it right with God. He is our mediator, our high Priest. He stands and defends us like a lawyer when we can't stand up for our selves. He is a counselor, when we don't know what to do. He carries us, when the road gets to hard to bare.

Yes we did it... Yes we struggle.... Yes we fall Short...But Jesus is the forgiver of our sins and like He said to the woman who was caught in adultery. I'm telling you now, Jesus does not condemn you, He only says:
Go and Sin No more, YOU are Forgiven!!!
