Your Gift Will Make Room for YOu!

Your Gift will make room for you

When my oldest son William was about two years old God began to stir up the gift of music in him. We used to sit in church and he would just cry and wiggle around. He wanted to play the drums so bad. He cried  and it would distract the service. I was so frustrated. I thought, here we are trying to enjoy service and this boy keeps making a scene about the drums. I wanted to leave because I could not enjoy the service. It  brought too much attention to us. I thought man Lord please help me with this boy.

One particular Sunday  he started acting up again, saying he wants to play the drums while we were right in the middle of the service. The pastor saw him crying, and he said, "Go and let him play the drums. I feel God has put that desire in him to play." So we Got up and let him play. Of course me being momma, I was embarrassed thinking, this boy done interrupted the whole service to play these drums. As a matter of fact, I was a little upset with him. I wished pastor never let him do that in the middle of the service because now I felt he was really gonna act up the next time we go to church. At the time my prospective was that he was just giving us a power struggle and was going through a little stage . We allowed him to continue to play and realized he really had a natural ability to play the drums.

When he went to Kindergarten God blessed him with free drumming lessons. We were so excited! After going a few times we realized he was gonna need his own set of drums to practice. We could not afford a drum set. It was too expensive. So, we  prayed about it and allowed him to continued to go to his lessons. One day out of faith we went to look at drums. What my momma used to call window shopping . We couldn't buy anything,we went to look around.. God just pressed upon my husbands heart to go look at the drums. So we all went to the Guitar Center. We walked around for a little bit. Looked at different prices and different types of drum sets.
I ended up going back outside to sit in the car with my younger children while my husband and my oldest son mister drummer boy looked around. While sitting there a young man walked out of the store carrying a drum set. I prayed Lord, bless us to be able to get a drum set some how. I felt discouraged because William needed one bad.

A few seconds later the boy walks over to the van and said, "I am selling my drum set and I was wondering if you would like to buy it from me." I was like really... I knew I didn't have enough to buy it, but I asked him any way. How much are you selling it for? He said "50 dollars." I said what? Hold on let me get My husband... I was thinking it was gonna be at least 200 dollars. I went to get him we bought it for 50 dollars, a whole drum set. I was praising God. We didn't  expect to buy anything and we left with a complete drum set.

It wasn't until we got home that we realized our next obstacle. How in the world was he gonna play these drums? We lived in an upstairs apartment over an older couple who were already irritated at our walking around. We prayed, continued to take him to lessons, and hoped for the best. My husband even took him to the park with the drums just so he can practice. we really needed him to have a space everyday to play. A few months later God gave us favor to move into a house. We had been  looking to move into a house for at least 2 years way before we even bought the drum set and couldn't find a place.God used those drums to stir up some faith in me to keep looking for a house. I told myself, God blessed us with a drum set, so I know he is going to provide the place to play. When we got the drum set I knew my house was coming and it did. God will never give us something that he would not make provision for.

I want to encourage you today. If God has spoken something into your life that seems incredibly too big. Or you're thinking how in the world am I gonna handle this. Why did God give me this responsibility.  Know that God would not  place it in your hand without providing provision and favor concerning the task. He knows what you can bear. You  must trust God in whatever he is challenging you to. Allow him to do whatever He wants to do through your life. You were created to display His glory. Your gift will make room for you...

proverbs 18:16 says
A gift opens the way and ushers the giver into the presence of the great

If we trust God with the gift, talents, and even trials given us. It will take us farther than we could ever imagine. We may look at ourselves and circumstances and count ourselves out. We shouldn't because God's strength is made perfect in our weakness... It's the areas that we say that we cannot, that God says, "But I can." He wants us to need Him to make it work.

Before we were even thought of He fashioned us and formed us in our mothers womb He knew us and equipped us to walk in His will for our lives. Even when his will seems a little out of touch with reality he wants us to trust him.... look at Joseph in the bible, how  his brothers thought he was crazy and arrogant when he told them about his dream of them one day under his authority... Saul was out to kill David when he found out God took his anointing and kingship away then went and anointed  David as king... Not only was Saul against him. David's brother told him to go back home to care for his sheep when he came to stand up against Goliath. His brother didn't think he was qualified for the job. But God did. God had a plan for him that was more then they all could imagine.

We must trust him with his plan that is Good not evil, to give us a hope and a future. What if I stopped going to church because my baby kept crying and embarrassing me. I wouldn't have found out God was stirring up a gift inside of him.  What if I had not listened to God and took him to get drumming lessons? He wouldn't have ever needed a miracle for a drum set. What if we allowed the need for a drum set to stop us from taking him to get lessons. We wouldn't have seen God give us favor and give us drums we didn't expect, and a house that we were praying to move into.

God always provides. Sometimes we think - why am I going through this? This vision is too Big. I am not qualified, but count it all Joy God wants to use you to display is glory. You were created for it, He will always come through. We don't always know His plan, however we can always trust Him to come through and work it out for our good.

What is God Calling you to today? Will you trust Him? I Promise you, it will work out in your favor!
